- “Deep Throat” Is Identified; After over thirty years of speculating, the mystery came to an
- The Johnstown Flood; It may or may not have been the most destructive flood in American history, but it was definitely the most memorable. I first heard about it thanks to a fictional children's book set during the flood, and later an article in an issue of Reader's Digest.
- Adolf Eichmann Executed; Hannah Arendt coined a memorable phrase when covering the trial of this infamous Nazi, “the banality of evil”. It was definitely a day when justice was served for the millions who were murdered during the Holocaust.
P.S. In case you were wondering, yes, that's Brooke Shields at the top and Clint Eastwood on the right. If you get the chance, you might want to wish them a happy birthday today, too.
