Targeted: Bob Morris

Bob Morris, a State Representative from not-too-far-off Fort Wayne, drew national attention for refusing to support a resolution in the Indiana General Assembly honoring the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts, citing their support of Planned Parenthood.

In the days since the story broke out, most of the response has been negative, like this opinion piece from Fort Wayne's newspaper The Journal Gazette and this blog post at Little Green Footballs.  As the linked pieces (hit jobs, really) show, Rep. Morris has been demonized as lacking intelligence for believing the Girl Scouts support Planned Parenthood and not bothering to do actual research on the matter.

The one thing Rep. Morris's detractors appear to be lacking are the facts.  Cathy Cleaver Ruse, writing this for The Washington Times, presents the connections between the Girl Scouts of America and Planned Parenthood, as well as other pro-abortion groups, connections which haven't been refuted by the other side.  There's also Abby Johnson, a former director at a Planned Parenthood facility, who posted about her discovery of the connection between PP and the Girl Scouts nine months ago.

The bottom line is Bob Morris brought up the truth about the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood, and thankfully, he's been sticking to his guns (only apologizing for his tone).  Anyone who's pro-life should stand in support of Bob Morris, and if you have already, my deep thanks with the hope you will continue to stand in support of him.

Thank you, Rep. Morris, for your courage.

Update (9:01 AM EST): Another connection between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood has been uncovered.
